PositionSummary:
VirginiaCommonwealth University (VCU) seeks a dedicated and detail-orientedCommunications Specialist to support the Integrity and Compliance Office (ICO).Under the supervision of the Program Manager Training and Communications theCommunications Specialist will join the ICO in their mission to foster aspeak-up culture and will function as the main agent delivering ethics andcompliance messaging for university employees. The Specialist will delivercontent in a variety of formats including written (eNewsletter blog eMail)and graphic (job aids posters etc.).

KeyResponsibilities:

Create and execute a communications strategy to send value-added messaging about ethics and compliance.

Tailor messaging for a variety of audiences to include university leadership faculty and staff.

Partner with internal (ICO) and external (university) stakeholders to assess needs and create targeted communications content.

Use Compass/T4 to update and maintain the Audit and Compliance Services (ACS) website.

Collaborate with ICO teammates to manage the writing and publication of the Annual Report.

Contribute to the creation and maintenance of new and existing documents and publications for which ICO is responsible such as the VCU Code of Conduct and the ICO Blog.

Lend communications support to our larger ACS team as needed.

Partner with the ACS Office Manager to build and edit slides for Board of Visitors meetings as needed.

Create graphics for the ACS website Annual Report job aids and other platforms and deliverables as needed.

Maintain asset files for presentation/slide decks existing job aids etc.

Ensure website content and digital documents comply with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities ACT (ADA) meeting the WCAG 2.1 Level AA technical standard.

Ensure all ICO content - print and digital - meets VCU Brand standards.

Serve as a member of the Integrity and Compliance Office (ICO) team and contribute as needed to the overall success of the ICO.

Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager Training and Communications and/or theChief Ethics and Compliance Officer.

Qualifications

MinimumQualifications:

Bachelors degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training experience and demonstrated knowledge base.

1-3 years of professional experience in communications.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent research and decision making skills.

Proficient in the creation of content based on data and needs analysis.

Proficient in creating content in various modalities to include digital and print.

Highest degree of professionalism civility and discretion.

Ability to collaborate work and lead projects/initiatives in a team environment.

Proficient in Word Excel PowerPoint or other similar tools as well as Google Suite.

Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect professionalismand civility with a population of faculty staff and students from various backgrounds and experiences or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.


PreferredQualifications:

At least one year of experience working within an ethics focused or ethics forward organization or regulated industry or experience working with regulated activities.

Experience working in a higher education environment.

Experience creating and maintaining content and publications for an office or organization.

Experienced in WordPress or similar blogging application.

Experienced in maintaining a content management systems (CMS) like Compass/T4.

Experienced in Canva and Infogram.
