Job Description

Position: Project Manager

Duration: 1 year

Location: Saint Paul MN (Work will be remote with the occasional onsite requirement at DEEDs Great Northern Building offices)

The description of the projects we are seeking a resource for is:

Grants Management System (GMS) is a project that is implementing the SaaS solution Intelligrants at the MN Department of Employment & Economic Development (DEED). The goal is to have an agency-wide solution for DEED to post grant opportunities and shepherd the applications through the grants management lifecycle. The system will allow DEED staff and grantees to be able to manage all aspects of the grant lifecycle. DEED as an agency manages hundreds of grants and grants can last several years. The project manager will formally project manage the development deployment enhancements and on-going running/maintenance of GMS. They should be able to work as an Agile scrum master performing scrum ceremonies of daily check-ins sprint planning sprint reviews etc. They will need to work closely with a product owner and the team (consisting of a product owner a system administrator an agile coach and business analysts as well as a vendor lead developer and project manager) to successfully deliver the system. Once fully in production this position will work with the team to establish a work cadence to process new grants and grant programs into GMS.

MNIT is seeking an Advanced Project Manager. The candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • PMP Certification
  • Excellent experience in SDLC Methodologies Agile SCRUM SDLC / Waterfall
  • Strong leadership diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up across and down multiple business and technology organizations
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork innovation and excellence
  • Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility solve problems build consensus and achieve objectives
  • Excellent leadership communication (written verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated decisive with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
