Administrator / Executive Director
Location: Facility Name part of the USPI Network
Salary Range: $150000 $190000 (Based on experience)
Bonus: Annual and Quarterly Bonus Potential
The Administrator / Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership strategy and management of the ambulatory surgery center (ASC) ensuring that all clinical operational and financial goals are met or exceeded. This role oversees daily operations regulatory compliance physician relations staff management quality improvement initiatives and business development efforts. The Administrator reports directly to the Governing Board and serves as a vital liaison between physicians staff and USPIs corporate team.
This is a high-impact leadership position that requires experience vision and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced high-quality surgical environment.
Core Responsibilities Strategic & Operational LeadershipOversee the daily operations of the surgery center with accountability for efficiency compliance quality and patient satisfaction
Serve as liaison between the Governing Board Medical Staff and facility departments
Ensure effective execution of USPIs EDGE operational framework and alignment with QPI programs
Develop monitor and control operating and capital budgets staffing levels and purchasing plans
Ensure compliance with state federal and accreditation regulations
Monitor monthly financial reports cash flow and profitability metrics
Establish and adjust pricing models based on cost analysis and market benchmarks
Negotiate and manage vendor physician and ancillary service contracts
Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining clinical excellence
Lead and develop a high-performing team; hire onboard and evaluate all exempt and non-exempt staff
Conduct regular performance evaluations and oversee all disciplinary actions
Implement job-based orientation training and continued education programs
Promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture
Conduct monthly staff meetings to communicate goals and operational updates
Ensure clinical services meet regulatory standards and best practices
Collaborate with the Medical Director and Medical Executive Committee on clinical service development
Oversee departments such as Nursing Central Supply Medical Records and Housekeeping
Manage outsourced services: Lab Radiology Pharmacy Biomedical Engineering etc.
Monitor and maintain surgical and patient care equipment
Lead the development and evaluation of the centers Quality Improvement (QI) and Infection Control programs
Monitor clinical and operational performance indicators and develop action plans as needed
Participate in the Quality Improvement Committee and medical staff peer review process
Coordinate physician credentialing and ensure up-to-date compliance
Serve as a liaison and problem-solver between physicians and staff
Maintain and foster strong relationships with medical staff to support strategic growth
Lead implementation of a local sales/marketing plan
Identify opportunities for service line expansion and market growth
Represent the ASC in the community and with external partners
Represent the ASC at corporate meetings and within professional associations
Remain informed on industry trends reimbursement changes and healthcare legislation
Uphold the organizations mission vision and values in all interactions
Bachelors degree in healthcare administration business nursing or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 3 years experience in a senior management role in an ASC or hospital surgical services setting
Strong knowledge of financial management regulatory compliance and clinical operations
Exceptional leadership communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in developing operational plans managing budgets and working collaboratively with physicians and staff
Working knowledge of accreditation standards (e.g. AAAHC CMS The Joint Commission)
Masters degree in Healthcare Administration Business Administration or related field
Experience with ASC startup or growth initiatives
Familiarity with USPI EDGE Staff Tracker and QPI framework
Credentialing and policy development expertise
Office-based environment with frequent access to clinical areas
Must have mobility to move throughout the facility for supervisory responsibilities
Occasional travel to attend corporate meetings and educational events
