The New York City Law Department has an opening for the newly created position of Deputy Assistant Director of Legal Recruitment. Reporting to the Director of Legal Recruitment and receiving guidance from the attorneys who serve as Assistant Directors of Legal Recruitment the person in this role will:
-Coordinate lateral hiring in 6 legal divisions by reviewing applications sending applications to division management overseeing the evaluation of candidates and scheduling selected candidates for final interviews.
-Review applications for the Summer Honors Program and the Entry Class and select candidates for interviews.
-Review interview evaluations from screening interviews and determine which candidates to move forward to the next level of interviews.
-Coordinate the placement of externs during the school year for students not participating in law school clinical programs.
-Schedule candidates for final interviews with the Director and Executives.
-Supervise one Community Associate in their work.
-Plan and coordinate events such as the Municipal Affairs Awards ceremony; and welcome receptions for the Summer Honors Interns and new hires.
-Procure and maintain supplies and Law Department Recruitment merchandise (mugs pens bags notebooks etc.)

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
