The JD Sports North America Application Solutions Group powers the expansion of JDs retail operations through building and delivering industry-leading connected customer experiences across all customer touchpoints. The VP IT Platforms & Application Solutions leads the group that drives innovation within the JD Finish Lines corporate systems. Most importantly this role is responsible for growing performance and talent within the team to successfully execute against our strategic plan.
This leader will effectively exhibit JD Finish Lines core values of Customer People Winning Community and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following main duties:
Leads Engineering teams with responsibilities including hiring team development and performance management
Works with senior leadership to align on organizational outcomes that can be leveraged to develop clear goals and success metrics in partnership between stakeholders
Creates and cultivates cross-functional relationships with departments across the company including Digital Operations Retail Operations Marketing Merchandising Brand Creative Legal and Human Resources to understand needs and rally organizational support for initiatives
Establishes the process to facilitate opportunity generation and intake evaluation and prioritization that results in a refined communication of strategy and roadmaps across the organization
Works with leaders across all IT functions to identify optimal work sequencing to managing capacity dependencies and roadblocks for cross-functional initiatives
Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key vendor partners to ensure successful integrations including involvement in regular business reviews and contract negotiations
Leverages views of enterprise data to understand strategic opportunities and other insights to guide & feature development and delivery
Assists in organizing and running regular strategic workshops with other leaders and business partners
Monitors emerging trends and practices across engineering and technology spaces to identify assess and implement new opportunities
Additional duties and projects as required.
Bachelors Degree in business or computer-related field from a four-year college or university and 10 - 12 years of experience overseeing the development implementation and performance of corporate systems or equivalent combination of education and experience. Internal JD Finish Line experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success in a startup or change-management environment. Demonstrated success managing project budgets timelines and resources. Experience working within an Agile development environment.
Should have fluent knowledge and abilities with G Suite toolset or Microsoft equivalents. Strong appreciation for Cloud based (and SaaS) applications. Business level understanding of Web technologies such as HTML JavaScript and XML SOAP/REST/WEB services.
