Job Description

Job Title: Apparel Tech Pack Designer

Primary Supervisor: Manufacturing Manager

Secondary Supervisor: Director of Manufacturing

Department: Cut & Sew

FLSA Status: Hourly

Summary: Responsible for translating design concepts into clear accurate and production-ready tech packs that ensure seamless communication with manufacturers and suppliers.


Essential Duties

  1. Create and maintain detailed tech packs including technical sketches construction details trim and material specifications colorways size specifications and BOMs (Bill of Materials).
  2. Collaborate closely with Cut Room Supervisor production teams and Quality Control to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
  3. Update and revise tech packs based on design changes development feedback and sample evaluations.
  4. Communicate with customers suppliers Quality Control and management team to clarify construction details and ensure sample development accuracy.
  5. Review and measure samples to ensure they meet design intent and specification standards.
  6. Track sample progress and maintain version control for all tech pack documents.
  7. Ensure all technical documents are aligned with brand esthetic and quality standards.
  8. Assist in fittings and product reviews providing technical feedback and measurement comments.
  9. May be required to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and if required to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  10. Other duties as deemed necessary.
  11. Additional hours if needed are mandatory.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  1. Associates degree in Fashion Design Apparel Production Technical Design or related field is preferred.
  2. 2 years of experience in apparel tech pack creation or technical design or experience with specific category (e.g. womens wear active wear and denim) preferred.
  3. Proficiency in Adobe illustrator; experience with PLM systems (e.g. Centric Gerber Yunique or similar) preferred
  4. Strong knowledge of garment construction grading and textiles preferred.
  5. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple styles simultaneously.
  6. Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross functional teams.
  7. Knowledge of garment fitting processes and production timelines.
  8. Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  9. Ability to listen to what is said and act upon it appropriately.
  10. Ability to use tact and empathy in dealing with people of varied backgrounds.
  11. Ability to establish effective working relationships.
  12. Ability to work independently or in a team environment and plan and organize workloads.
  13. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  14. Trustworthy-Able to keep business confidential as required.
  15. Open minded-willing to embrace change.
