Position overview

This position combines responsibilities from two roles: Master Data Team Leader and AP Area Process Lead. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the end-to-end Master Data process. You will be responsible for handling various aspects of the Master Data process while maintaining a high level of accuracy and customer satisfaction. This position covers also the governance of the outsourced operations that take place in Master Data and Account Payable section of the assigned area including process development and escalation management in cooperation with other stakeholders.

Daily responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of master data team (23 people) and outsourcing partner
  • Monitor master data teams and outsourcing partners performance
  • Provide support and guidance to team members
  • Manage team (setting goals conducting performance evaluations of employees leading team meetings)
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports
  • Review and resolve master data inquiries
  • Approve process documentation
  • Ensure compliance with the Groups controls policies and procedures
  • Maintain close cooperation with the business in order to monitor the status of operations
  • Support internal and external audit
  • Continuously look to identify areas in the process that can be improved and standardized to drive efficiency
  • Provide root cause analysis and support solution finding in case of operational issues
  • Escalations management
  • SOX control supervision
  • Other tasks assigned by the supervisor

Required Qualifications

  • University degreein finance accounting business administration or a related field a professional certificate in accounting would be an advantage
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in shared service operations ideally combined with the governance of (partially) outsourced activities
  • Strong analytical problem solving and communication skills
  • The working language is English which has to be fully mastered; good knowledge of any other major EMEA language (i.e. German French Italian Spanish Turkish) would be an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of SAP ERP experience with Oracle would be an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office package especially MS Excel experience with Alteryx would be an advantage
  • Ability to work with large datasets
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data accuracy
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and independently
  • Willingness to adapt to changing processes and learn new tools and systems
  • Effective time management in order to meet deadlines
