You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Patient Experience Receptionist is responsible for greeting and navigating patients/guests in the Surgical Services lobby. This staff member will provide assistance to patients checking in for surgery and expedite patient flow. In addition navigate patient/guest flow in the check-in process to ensure an overall positive customer experience.
The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties both major and minor that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time.
People:
Education and Formal Training:High School diploma. Previous surgical services career background preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required: Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when dealing with ill people; uses tact sensitivity sound judgment and a professional attitude when relating with patients and families. Actively functions as a patient advocate. Must have skills with computer terminals printers and facsimile machines. Knowledge of current hospital emergency policies and procedures including knowledge of fire safety disaster and infection control policies. Excellent communication skills necessary.
