Legal Counsel - Investments, 12 month FTC

Join Rests Investment Legal Team (RILT) and play a key role in supporting and protecting Rests investment objectives. Youll provide legal advice across domestic and global investment matters ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and mitigating legal risks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on legal and regulatory issues impacting investment decisions and operations.
• Draft review and negotiate investment agreements across listed and unlisted portfolios.
• Support transaction execution due diligence and asset management processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams (tax finance operations) to ensure legal protections and documentation.
• Manage legal risks in investment structures entities and service provider relationships.
• Assist with investment-related litigation and public disclosure obligations.
• Provide training and guidance on legal rights obligations and internal policies.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor of Laws or appropriate business/law degree with admission in an appropriate jurisdiction.
• Hold a current Australian legal practicing certificate

Required experience understanding or credentials including:

• Must be commercially astute possess strong analytical and research skills.
• Demonstrable experience in a corporate/commercial environment and have familiarity within the commercial investment and/or finance environment.
• Demonstrated experience in managing multiple complex transactions both domestically and cross-border.
• Demonstrated commercial approach to legal risk management.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Understanding of limitations and risks and the need to escalate to more senior practitioners and brief external consultants when appropriate.
• Ability to work in an environment requiring attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
• Well developed inter personal skills and ability to liaise across the fund as required.
