Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Sepang Malaysia. As the second-in-command in our kitchen you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of food quality and kitchen operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and leadership skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative menu items and specials
  • Ensure consistent food quality and presentation across all dishes
  • Assign specific duties to kitchen staff and provide guidance and training as needed
  • Monitor and maintain proper food storage handling and safety standards
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef to manage food costs and minimize waste
  • Participate in inventory management and ordering of supplies
  • Conduct regular quality checks on food items to ensure they meet our high standards
  • Contribute to menu planning and recipe development
  • Step in for the Executive Chef when necessary

Qualifications :

  • Culinary school graduate or equivalent experience in the field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role preferably in a high-volume kitchen
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of classic and modern pastry techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
  • Creativity in menu planning and food presentation
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in kitchen management software and inventory systems
  • Certification(s) from a reputable culinary institution (preferred)
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences
  • Experienced in pastry will be an advantage
