We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Sepang Malaysia. As the second-in-command in our kitchen you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of food quality and kitchen operations. - Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative menu items and specials
- Ensure consistent food quality and presentation across all dishes
- Assign specific duties to kitchen staff and provide guidance and training as needed
- Monitor and maintain proper food storage handling and safety standards
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to manage food costs and minimize waste
- Participate in inventory management and ordering of supplies
- Conduct regular quality checks on food items to ensure they meet our high standards
- Contribute to menu planning and recipe development
- Step in for the Executive Chef when necessary
Qualifications :
- Culinary school graduate or equivalent experience in the field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role preferably in a high-volume kitchen
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Strong technical knowledge of classic and modern pastry techniques
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Creativity in menu planning and food presentation
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in kitchen management software and inventory systems
- Certification(s) from a reputable culinary institution (preferred)
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences
- Experienced in pastry will be an advantage
