Job Description

Overview:

  • Full time Fixed Term position until December 2027

  • Salary HEW 7 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements

  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus however may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University.

About You

As the Women in STEM Coordinator you will play a pivotal role in enhancing diversity in STEM fields through strategic collaboration with industry experts student audiences and educators. Your key responsibilities will include coordinating and evaluating RMIT Women in STEM programs such as outreach initiatives student engagements staff training and industry site tours.

You will oversee the logistics of program implementation manage diverse stakeholder relationships and support student ambassadors. Your work will involve developing engaging STEM-based content with industry experts synthesising program outcomes and maintaining clear communication to meet deliverables efficiently.

Based primarily at the RMIT City Campus you will occasionally work at other locations including Bundoora and Victorian schools. A flexible approach to working hours and adaptability during peak periods will be essential. Your role requires independence teamwork and a commitment to RMITs values contributing positively to team culture.

To be successful in this position youll have:

Demonstrated communication relationship building and negotiation skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders including staff students and externalpartners (schools and industry). Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines in a demanding high-volume environment with excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance. Experience in managing projects from initiation to completion to meet goals and objectives including planning resource allocation communication negotiation stakeholder management conducting post-project evaluations and reporting. High level of computer literacy MS-Office software packages email internet and correspondence management databases with the ability to learn new technical skills. High level of organisation skills and the ability to manage time effectively prioritise multiple tasks and meet conflicting deadlines. Experience working with schools in education STEM outreach and/or the construction sector is desirable. An understanding of and/or interest in increasing diverse participation in STEM is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree and/or relevant experience.

  • Hold a valid Australian drivers licence (P2 minimum).

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
