Job Overview
The role of the Government Relations Specialist is to perform specific tasks associated with ASMs public policy and advocacy efforts coordinating with others in the department and across the organization. This may include facilitating ASM participation in public events including congressional briefings Capitol Hill visits and ASM conferences. This position will require interacting with ASM member experts congressional staff and federal officials to ensure timely and professional coordination organization and communication of the Federal Affairs teams activities. The position will also lend general administrative support on budget matters.

Essential Functions (defines the critical end results expected of the jobholder related to the accountabilities above)
- Conducting background research and preparing briefing materials to support ASM government relations efforts.
- Coordinate in-person and online policy and advocacy events and provide on-site logistical support.
- Work closely with ASM members and the Federal Affairs team including coordinating meetings with experts and gathering and synthesizing feedback.
- Provide support for the budget functions of the Public Policy and Advocacy team.
- Schedule and plan agendas for Public Policy and Advocacy staff and stakeholder meetings to ensure good communication among the staff and with stakeholders.
- Track key metrics for departmental activities.
- Under the direction of the Director Federal Affairs represent ASM at coalition meetings and identify opportunities for policy development and engagement.

Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role and may sit or use PC for long periods of time. Bending reaching or stooping may be necessary for use of filing cabinets or other office cabinets or office machines. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones copiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
Salary Range- $71944.62 - $93495.35
