Job Description

Job Summary

As a senior member of the Admissions team the Officer Admissions (International) will support and facilitate the admission and enrolment of students from the application stage through to final admission including the evaluation of transfer credit.

The Officer Admissions (International) focuses on the processing and admission of complex application files requiring high levels of decision-making commonly associated with graduate programs competitive select and second entry programs as well as applications from international students.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a post-secondary Registrars office required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of high school and post-secondary education systems in Canada.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of international education systems.
  • Experience in an education or related setting supporting client records.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities when encountering conflicting demands.
  • Ability to interpret and apply University and government policies and regulations.
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment tact and discretion.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Proven ethical and objective decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated on-line information research skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with complex computing systems including MS Office suite
  • Demonstrated experience working in student information and reporting systems such as Banner (or similar).
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with students faculty and staff.
  • A high level of personal effectiveness in the workplace including the ability to work efficiently under pressure to respond appropriately to challenging situations and to achieve objectives within deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of UFV and its academic programs academic regulations policies and procedures considered an asset.
