Job Description

Position Summary
The Accountant is a key member of Grecos Accounting team and reports directly to the Controller. This role is responsible for a variety of daily accounting functions including support for month-end and quarter-end closings. The position supports both our Windsor Ontario and Hudson Florida locations. The Accountant will work closely with the Senior Accountant to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.


Responsibilities
Prepare month-end close activities including the preparation and review of journal entries in accordance with US / Canadian GAAP.
Support with compliance to internal controls SOX regulations and have good audit trail.
Maintains and reconciles bookings and backlog.
Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and ensure accounts are reconciled with resolution to noted items.
Ensure transactional and GL ledger maintenance and accuracy.
Process and analyzes Job Costing transactions accurately.
Oversight to AP vendor payments processing and minor AP related tasks.
Oversight to Expense Reports and related task
Support the Controller and Operations with ad hoc reports and projects as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Knowledge of accounting practices within a manufacturing environment preferred.
Prior Sage 300 experience preferred
Able to perform general accounting work with accuracy and attention to detail.
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
Able to effectively complete work within assigned timeframes.
Able to communicate professionally verbally and in writing with team members vendors and customers.
A strong sense of teamwork and willingness to help out other team members as needed.
Able to use good judgement and ethical conduct at all times.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products including advanced Excel skills (v-lookups and pivot tables).

Experience
2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role.
Experience using industry software to perform general accounting activities and financial reporting.

Education
Bachelor Degree in Accounting Finance Business or related field is required.

Other
Physical This position operates in an office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones scanners and filing cabinets. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
