About the Position:

Diversity Initiatives and Resource Centers (DIRC) at Cal State Fullerton creates inclusive spaces that foster a sense of belonging for students of diverse identities and champion student success across campus. Our signature events include welcome events community building and identity and development history and heritage month events educational programming and end of the year cultural recognition celebrations. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Womens Resource Center Coordinator (Student Services Professional III). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity openness flexibility integrity and kindness.

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Director of DIRC the Womens Resource Center Coordinator will have demonstrated experience working with Women-identified students on their education and social support needs transitional issues as they navigate the campus community. This Coordinator must show a level of cultural competence and experience to navigate potential problems and barriers that Women-identified students face.

The Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day activities and operations of the Womens Resource Center (WRC) which includes but not limited to management of center budgets implementation of programs and services evaluation and assessment of WRC programs engagements with campus and community stakeholders and the recruitment hiring and evaluation of student assistant staff. Develop a strategic plan to enhance the Titan Experience for Women-identified students through programs services and collaborations with relevant campus stakeholders invested in the success of our Women-identified students on campus (e.g. Womens Resource Center Faculty Liaison Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPs) College of Humanities and Social Sciences Gender and Sexuality Studies Titanwell TitanThrive Office of Civil Rights and Equity Transfer Adult Parenting & Pregnant Student Center (TAPP) Housing and Residential Engagement (Athena House Themed Learning Community) and other relevant campus departments. Design evaluate assess and implement all student programming and services offered through the WRC including campus wide programming focused on education and dialogue community building and identity development. Additionally the Coordinator will create and implement large scale WRC programming including an annual welcome event end-of-the-year celebration and Womens History Month activities in alignment to the departments program model that promotes culturally relevant personal academic and professional development.

The WRC Coordinator will research current issues as it relates to Women-identified college students and use this information to inform ongoing programming and services offered by the WRC. Will serve as a partner and work collaboratively with a wide variety of departments and partners across the university community to develop effective programs and services that complement the co-curricular experience of students. Represents the center at campus wide events including but not limited to open houses and orientation. Promote assessment by tracking attendance and collecting data from participants and events to support monthly quarterly and annual division reports. Additionally the Coordinator will assist with the development and oversight of center publication social media and other communications to enhance the visibility of the center and its services on campus.

The Coordinator will also oversee the strategic goals and mission of the WRC in direct alignment with the Fullerton Forward CSUF Strategic Plan 2024-2029 Division of Human Resources and Inclusive Excellence and Diversity Initiatives and Resource Center missions and goals. This position will work collaboratively with a wide variety of departments and partners across the university community to develop effective programs and services that promote culturally relevant academic excellence personal and professional development to our Women-identified students that support the connection of identity and success at Cal State Fullerton. As a team member within DIRC the Womens Resource Center Coordinator will assist with programs and initiatives throughout the department as needed. Participates in applicable meetings committees and training. Assists with interviewing hiring mentoring and training student assistants. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelors degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field including or supplemented by upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques interviewing and conflict resolution plus three years of professional student services work in the field. A masters degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling Clinical Psychology Social Work or a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. A Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university and the appropriate internship or clinical training in a relevant field may be substituted for three years of the required professional experience.

Ability to plan develop coordinate supervise and organize programs and activities. Ability to interact with a diverse student population faculty staff and the public. Ability to analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action. Ability to advise students individually and in groups on complex student-related matters. Ability to complete assignments without detailed instructions. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals. Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures activities and the overall organization.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree from an accredited college or university in Womens and Gender/Queer Studies Higher Education or job-related field. Alternatively graduate emphasis in Women Gender and Sexuality Studies is preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Womens and Gender Equity. Experience working in a Womens or Womens and Gender Equity Center. Demonstrated experience working with faculty and community partners. Experience working with multiple constituencies such as Latinx students Black/African American students students of color LGBTQIA undocumented and diverse community members. Demonstrated knowledge experience and competency in the areas of diversity education program development and implementation student development assessment and evaluation and staff supervision.

Experience working with student organizations as well as with program planning and implementation training design and student development program delivery. Experience directing highly visible areas. Experience planning and implementing co-curricular programs. Experience developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with a variety of constituents. Prior large-scale programming experience experience in or ability to develop and manage budgets and experience in or ability to develop and oversee assessment efforts. Ability to develop and facilitate a range of workshops and trainings related to diversity leadership and cultural competence. Ability to represent Diversity Initiatives and Resource Centers within the Office of Engagement and Belonging across campus and within the Division of Human Resources and Inclusive Excellence. Demonstrated understanding of the academic culture within and knowledge of relevant issues affecting public four-year institutions.
