Job Description

JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY:This position is responsible for planning organizing and implementing appropriate instructional programs andlearning activities in order to facilitate the learning process in such a way that supports each individual studentsintellectual emotional physical and social growth and FUNCTIONS ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Planning & Instructional Delivery:1. Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the curriculum program and showwritten evidence of preparation as required.2. Prepares engaging learning experiences to align with District approved teaching and learning practicesand standards such as the District High Quality Teaching document while also accommodatingdifferences in individual student needs.3. Plans and uses appropriate instructional strategies activities materials equipment and technology thatare reflective of various learning styles and needs of students and that are aligned with applicablesubject matter requirements set forth by the Texas Education Agency Board policies and administrativeregulations.4. Conducts assessments of individual student learning styles and applies assessment results to planappropriately rigorous instructional activities.5. Experience in planning and delivering curriculum aligned with industry-based certifications ensuringstudents are prepared for certification exams and equipped with the necessary skills for success inrelated fields.6. Interfaces with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education studentsaccording to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).7. Works interdependently with other members of staff including without limitation the assignedcollaborative team to determine instructional goals objectives and methods according to Districtrequirements.8. Directs or otherwise oversees the work of assigned instructional aide(s).Classroom Management and Organization:9. Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical social andemotional development of students.10. Builds trust as well as establishes a sense of security and belonging.11. Manages student behavior in accordance with the Districts Student Code of Conduct and the DistrictsStudent Handbook.12. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilitiesof the Growth and Development:13. Conducts ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal assessments.14. Monitors student progress celebrates student growth and provides targeted support that is responsive tostudent needs.15. Serves as a positive role model for students.16. Assumes responsibility for co-curriculuar and extracurricular activities (FCCLA) and sponsors outsideactivities as approved by the campus :17. Establishes and maintains a professional relationship and open communication with parents guardiansstudents colleagues and members of the local community.18. Follows district and campus norms for resolving concerns and ensures that all interactions are courteousand respectful even when circumstances make it difficult to do :19. Maintains accurate pupil accounting records in compliance with local and state requirements includingwithout limitation student academic grades industry-based certification results conduct grades andattendance.20. Performs all duties and tasks in a manner consistent with all applicable policies procedures andpractices within the Department and District with all applicable local state and federal regulatoryrequirements as well as with all applicable guidelines standards and requirements as set forth bygoverning bodies including without limitation Texas Health & Human Services Texas Education CodeState Board of Education Texas Education Agency and Texas Association of School Boards.21. Maintains relevant and up-to-date understanding working knowledge and proficiency of current bestpractices as well as state and federal mandates for proper implementation and application of all aspectsof IEPs Section 504 accommodations emergent bilingual supports through LPAC and academic and/orbehavior Response to Intervention.22. Participates in Admission Review & Dismissal (ARD) 504 and LPAC meetings as required.23. Fulfills all applicable Texas state mandated continuing professional education requirements applicable tothe credentialing requirements of the job and participates in staff development activities to improvejob-related skills.24. Demonstrates applicable standards and practices of professional conduct and care in the performance ofthe job function including but not limited to the educators Code of Ethics and the employee handbook.25. Monitors respective work activity and the work activity of others for variances and anomalies.26. Identifies and reports timely any known or suspected compliance issues to appropriate personnel.27. Participates as assigned in audits and in the preparation for audits whether initiated internally orexternally.28. Adheres to all other District wide policies and procedures including but not limited to human resourcessafety and emergency :29. Consistently demonstrates support towards the campus and district culture as well as the campus andDistricts Shared Vision Mission and Promise 2 Purpose.30. Assists campus leadership in the compilation of miscellaneous confidential reports.31. Attends campus and District meetings and serves on staff committees as required.32. Assists in selecting instructional materials as needed.33. Consistently displays integrity responsibility accountability teamwork and ethics.34. Performs assigned job duties and responsibilities in accordance with established performanceexpectations as well as with District policies procedures protocols and standard practices.35. Maintains relevant and up-to-date job knowledge by participating in continuous education initiatives.36. Demonstrates proficient working knowledge and understanding of the assigned academic subject area.37. Demonstrates proficient working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Excel Word PowerPointand Outlook Google Shared applications to include Google Sheets Google Docs and Google Slides aswell as database systems and applications relevant to the job function.38. Performs other duties as EDUCATION EXPERIENCE & CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelors Degree from an accredited university Active In Good Standing and Duly Obtained Texas Teaching Certificate with required applicableendorsements from an accredited organization. Any home economics or homemaking certificate Family and Consumer Sciences Composite: Grade 6-12 Human Development and Family Studies: Grade 8-12 Obtain or be willing to obtain the affiliated industry based certification related to curriculum.
