Job Purpose
This position is Part-time On-call which is an employment category requiring the individual be available to work on short notice to cover the function when other employees are not available. This position is based at the 26 acre Els Center of Excellence campus in Jupiter Florida which houses both the Els For Autism Foundation as well as a public charter school for those on the autism spectrum (ages 3-21).
This position promotes lawful behavior and protects the welfare of students faculty and staff by managing all entry into the Els Center of Excellence (ECOE) campus enforcing traffic and parking regulations and monitoring behavior of visitors while enforcing regulations. This position monitors the physical safety of campus buildings by unarming building alarms and turning on building lights monitoring video surveillance systems and reporting suspicious behavior as assigned.
Roles and Responsibilities
- On-Call or as Scheduled (Part-Time)
- Run guard house from 7:05 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (as Needed)
- Confirms scheduled appointments on shared calendar before allowing visitors onto the campus
- Contacts staff members when appointments arrive
- Uses walkie talkie to inform both schools on campus of afterschool pick up arrivals
- Uses walkie talkie to inform Foundation staff of program participant arrivals and pick ups
- Provides authorized visitors with temporary visitors passes and checks parking passes for staff parents and volunteers
- Remains vigilant and reports irregularities such as security breaches facility and safety hazards and emergency situations; as required contacts emergency responders such as police fire and/or ambulance personnel.
- May be required to patrol assigned area on foot in assigned motor vehicles or other specialized vehicles (golf cart) to ensure personal building and equipment security.
- Performs credential data entry for access into the campus and entire building creating employee access cards employee & parent windshield gate entry decals temporary & employee name parking cards.

- Ability to successfully conduct security patrols without direct supervision.
- Demonstrates excellent rapport with visitors staff and families.
- High school diploma or GED required.
