SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented empathetic and analytical Claims Adjuster to join our team at The Armstrong Company a nationwide leader in moving and relocation services. The Claims Adjuster is responsible for managing investigating and resolving claims related to loss or damage during residential and commercial relocations. This role plays a key part in maintaining customer satisfaction and ensuring the companys liability is handled accurately and fairly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive and review incoming claims for household goods damage loss or service-related issues.
- Investigate claims by reviewing documentation (e.g. inventory sheets photographs service orders contracts).
- Communicate with customers drivers agents third-party vendors and internal teams to gather relevant information.
- Analyze liability determine coverage and negotiate fair settlements in accordance with company policy and federal/state regulations.
- Maintain detailed documentation of claims and resolution steps in the claims management system.
- Coordinate repair replacement or compensation for damaged items with approved vendors.
- Ensure timely processing of all claims to meet company and industry service level agreements (SLAs).
- Identify patterns and recommend process improvements or training opportunities to reduce future claims.
- Assist with escalated complaints and resolve disputes professionally and in alignment with company values.
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards federal transportation regulations and valuation protection coverage.
- Any other duties as assigned by Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
- 2 years of experience in claims adjustment insurance or related field; moving/relocation industry experience highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of valuation coverage (e.g. full-value protection released value) and claims processes for household goods moving.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and investigative skills.
- Ability to remain calm and empathetic in high-stress customer situations.
- Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
