About the role:
Reporting to the Director of International Benefits the Benefits Specialist will support the development of the strategy for international benefits design and implementation of any new or revised benefit programs sponsored by the American International Group Inc subsidiaries outside the US. The Specialist will also support the Director assessing needs evaluating cost-effectiveness opportunities ensuring regulatory compliance managing or assisting with audits and related activities in order to be responsive to the companys goals and to ensure that the company is competitive within the markets where it does business. The Specialist will also participate in the ongoing monitoring of benefit plans including group insurance and paid time off programs. This role is comprehensive working within a fast-paced high-volume environment.
Key responsibilities:
Managing the administration of Third Country National Pension Plan including responding to inquiries from participants outside the US; conducting international benefits audit prepare benchmarking reports and recommend plan design changes
Coordinating with local HR around the globe for timely submission of responses to vendor partner surveys that then entitle AIG to receive the survey results and benchmark data for assigned countries
US Benefits Administration independently managing the administration of the Adoption & Surrogacy Reimbursement Program Tuition Reimbursement Program AD&D Hospital Indemnity Critical Illness and Legal EASE programs and assisting Supervisor with management of Business Travel Accident (BTA) and AIG Medical Indemnity (AMI) programs.
The ideal candidate must have the following skills:
2 years of benefit experience or the equivalent. International benefits experience or domestic benefits required.
Strong project management skills
Strong mathematical and analytical skills and proven experience in solving problems and identifying recommended solutions
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal written presentation) with ability to interact with different cultures effectively and tactfully throughout the organization
Team player with the ability to work with and build trust with all levels of internal staff as well as with consultants and vendors
Must possess a goal driven sense of urgency and customer service responsiveness with ability to consistently meet or exceed deadlines on all projects and requests
Ability to prioritize multi-task and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced service-oriented environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Finance Actuarial Mathematics or related discipline preferred
