Under the Futures of ICSOs initiativetheICSCentresupports (I)CSOs in implementing the transformational changes needed within their organisations to become more agile respond to emergingrealitiesand carve future-fit roles for themselves. This includes our continuing work on power shift and fostering inclusive and diverse governance models and supporting transformational journeys toward localisation. As part of the initiative theICSCentrehosts theScanning the Horizoncommunity the only collaborative trend scouting and analysis platform in the civil society sector. The communityconvenesfuturists strategists trend analysts and organisational learning and research specialists form a cross-sector community of experts and practitioners which share insights explore keytrendsand develop relevant strategies.Within thisinitiativetheICSCentresupports organisations in exploring long-term perspectivesand rolesand developing proactive approaches to future challenges and opportunities. Scenario development is a proven tool tofacilitatesuch forward-looking thinking allowing organisations to envision and prepare for differentpossible futures.
By developingan outlineand conceptoffour compelling coherent and inspirational scenarios for civil society in 20 years this project aims to spark dialogue and help build a shared positive vision for civil societys role and impact in the world.

The International Civil Society Centre was set up in 2007 to support international civil society organisations (ICSOs) maximise their impact for a sustainable and more equitable world. The Centre is owned and supported by more than 20 of the largest international civil society organisations such as Amnesty International Oxfam International World YWCA or Islamic Relief Worldwide working across human rights social justice environmental and humanitarian themes. Our mission is to strengthen the impact and resilience of international civil society organisations to support people to change their world for the better. We do this through a range of activities meetings and event formats documenting and developing insights. We are a not-for-profit organisation and are passionate about building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable environment for staff partners and everybody who interacts with us through various fora.
