This position begins August 25th 2025 and continues for the 2025-2026 school Driscoll Extended Day Program (DEDP) is a private non-profit afterschool program that operates within the Driscoll School building in Brookline MA. We provide a nurturing and fun after school environment for children in Pre-K Kindergarten and up through the 5th Grade. Our daily schedule includes both structured programming such as arts and crafts sports science drama and special events as well as unstructured hang-out time. We strive to promote the social and emotional development of the children by helping them gain self-confidence and build positive relationships decision-making abilities conflict resolution skills and independence. (Afterschool program and/or camp experience is valued!)- Experience in a leadership/supervisory role with other staff members- Enthusiasm creativity positive attitude initiative strong work ethic flexibility- Experience and interest in planning and running a variety of group activities such as arts and crafts gym/outdoor games science drama etc.- Commitment to quality and the desire to make a difference for children and families.- Interest in team teaching- Ability to make a commitment for the entire 25-26 school yearSchedule requirements: (25.5 hours/week):- Monday through Thursday 1:30pm-6:15pm (school releases at 2:30pm)- Friday 12:45pm-6:15pm (school releases at 1:45pm)- Wednesday availability to stay for a one hour (paid) professional development meeting 6:15pm-7:00pm.- An optional 1:00pm (12:15pm on Fridays) start time is available for Coordinators who would like an additional 2.5 hours per requirements for DEDP Coordinators Group Leaders and Assistant Group Leaders:- Supervise a group of children throughout the day in a variety of settings within the school building and playground spaces- Build and maintain relationships with parents and families of students- Responsible for designing and implementing activities for students including projects (arts & crafts STEM etc) active games and recurring topical clubs for studentsJob requirements specific to the Coordinator position:Documentation:Reviewing activity plans submitted by your team members and offering suggestions and/or any necessary changes then compiling all activity plans into a monthly calendar to be made available in the DEDP OfficeWriting monthly observation reports for Group Leaders on your teamMaintaining all fire drill logs incident reports behavior tracking logs and other necessary documentationWriting a one-page monthly newsletter to be sent to families Staff Training:Provide ongoing coaching and support (and consistent feedback) to their teaching teamLead team meetings on a bi-weekly basis to facilitate communication and collaboration among the teaching staff. These meetings will be used to discuss program updates share best practices address any challenges and foster a positive team culture and happen between 6:00pm and 6: and address any conflicts or issues among the teaching team in a fair and respectful manner.
