Job Description

Greenberg Traurig (GT) a global law firm has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Associate in the Energy & Natural Resources Practice at our Warsaw office.

Job Requirements:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Advise clients on compliance with Polish and EU energy regulations including licensing permitting and environmental requirements for energy and natural resources projects.

  • Project Development: Support clients throughout all project stages including structuring risk assessment and project financing.

  • Transactions & M&A: Provide legal support for M&A and joint venture transactions in the sector including due diligence drafting and negotiating transaction documents and advising on regulatory clearances.

  • Contract Negotiation: Draft review and negotiate a wide range of contracts including power purchase agreements (PPAs) supply distribution EPC O&M and grid connection agreements.

  • Regulatory Proceedings: Represent clients before Polish and EU regulatory authorities including the Energy Regulatory Office (URE) in licensing tariff concession and other administrative proceedings.

  • Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Represent clients in disputes related to energy and natural resources projects including regulatory contractual and environmental matters.

  • Renewable Energy: Advise on the development and operation of renewable energy projects including support with grid connection subsidies and trading schemes.

  • Environmental Law: Provide legal advice on environmental aspects of energy and natural resources projects including permitting compliance and litigation relating to environmental impact assessments.

  • Infrastructure & Construction: Advise on infrastructure construction and development aspects of energy projects including land acquisition zoning and permitting issues.

  • Sector-Specific Advice: Advise on industry-specific regulations including gas electricity oil mining and water law.

  • Foreign Investment: Support foreign investors in navigating regulatory transactional and compliance challenges related to investing in the Polish energy and natural resources sector.

  • Policy & Market Trends: Monitor and interpret changes in energy policy market regulations and sustainability requirements to help clients anticipate and respond to industry developments.

We expect:

  • A Masters degree in law.

  • Bar admission (as either an advocate or attorney-at-law).

  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience advising clients in the energy sector.

  • A strong focus on clients needs willingness to take on responsibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent legal research writing and analytical skills.

  • Fluent practical command of spoken and written legal English.

  • Very good organizational skills attention to detail ability to meet deadlines and a can-do attitude.

  • A proactive supportive and team-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills.
