The Role:

The primary objective is to provide early intervention case management support to vulnerable children young people (birth to 18 years) and their families at risk of or affected by child protection and mental illness. The role aims to provide opportunities for them to reach their potential through practical assistance non-clinical support education and information services in a casework/groupwork model.

Main Duties

  • Provide early intervention short and long term case management support for children young people and their families.
  • Facilitate Child and Youth focused non-clinical evidence-based groups in order to develop capacity educate help identify and provide strategies around mental health and well-being.
  • Provide engagement services and develop partnerships with stakeholders to reach difficult to access families
  • Contribute to the development continuous quality improvement and evaluation of family support strategies with children and young people by keeping up to date on research and best practice and participating in supervision

Selection Criteria

  • Degree level qualifications in the areas of Social Work Psychology Social Sciences Health or equivalent
  • Experience working with children and/or young people and families experiencingmental health issues and demonstrated knowledge of the same.
  • Case management experience of working with children youth and/or families.
  • Practical experience in providing therapeutic non-clinical groups practical assistance and casemanagement to children and young people experiencing mental health issues
  • Experience in the delivery of early intervention supports to culturally and linguistically diverse communities and an understanding of the diverse needs of clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence current and verified Working with Children Check and National Police Check
