Job Summary
Reporting to the Head Coach Swimming & Diving the Assistant Coach Mens and Womens Diving is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of divers including but not limited to: coaching scheduling conditioning contest preparation scouting practice planning and execution fundraising purchasing and care of equipment planning and supervision of team travel and monitoring the personal academic and athletic development of student-athletes in the program. A key area of responsibility will also be assisting in the implementation of the programs recruiting plan to attract student-athletes with strong character and an academic profile that aligns with the mission of the College and Athletics. The Assistant Coach will work collaboratively with various departments across campus including but not limited to Admissions Student Affairs Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations to optimize community engagement efforts.
Job Duties
- 60% - Provide direct coaching to divers during scheduled practice times and competitions. Responsibilities include observing and improving diving techniques offering feedback and encouragement teaching mental fortitude and fostering a supportive environment. Building strong relationships with student-athletes to ensure trust and respect is essential to their development and team success. - (Essential)
- 20% - Develop and implement practice plans that address technical skills conditioning and meet preparation. - (Essential)
- 20% - Recruit and retain a competitive group of at least three mens and three womens divers. - (Essential)
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One year of diving experience.
- Knowledge of mens and womens competitive diving on 1M and 3M springboard.
- Ability to improve technique build mental toughness and build strong relationships with the athletes.
- Ability to make safe call outs for difficult dives.
- Demonstrated commitment to the academic achievement of student athletes.
- Knowledge and/or application of rules and regulations of SCIAC Conference and the NCAA Division III.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint) Google drives/folders/forms Adobe Acrobat Web Editing and social media applications or any combination of productivity programs applicable to position responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thorough; skilled at anticipating and preventing potential problems and handling a wide variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy. Strong commitment to a quality work product.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally in writing and electronically.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in athletics sports management training or other fields related to position responsibilities.
- Three years of college coaching experience some of which was at the collegiate level.
EXPECTED HIRING RANGE: $17.87/hr
