Hittle is seeking a Staff Accountantfor our Finance team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of Hittle Landscaping. This role will assist with general ledger maintenance fixed asset tracking billing payroll support and month-end close. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong accounting fundamentals and ideally has experience in the construction landscaping or trade services industry.
What Youll Do:
- Prepare and post journal entries and perform monthly general ledger reconciliations
- Maintain and track fixed assets and depreciation schedules
- Assist with processing weekly payroll including reconciliation and reporting
- Manage Construction AIA and Work-in-Progress (WIP) billing processes
- Generate customer invoices and monitor accounts receivable aging
- Support accounts payable with coding and payment processing
- Assist in month-end and year-end closings including account analysis and financial reporting
- Collaborate with division leaders to ensure accurate job costing and billing
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Help ensure compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies
What Were Looking For:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- 23 years of relevant accounting experience preferably in construction landscaping or a related trade industry
- Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting procedures
- Experience with fixed assets payroll billing and job costing
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Saturday (when needed)
