The Vice President of Product Quality is responsible for developing and implementing quality strategies to ensure the delivery of safe consistent and high-quality consumer products. This executive leader will oversee product quality assurance and control processes across the product lifecyclefrom concept and design to manufacturing distribution and post-market surveillance. The VP will ensure regulatory compliance enhance customer satisfaction and support business growth through robust quality systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Define and lead the companys quality vision strategy and operational plans aligned with overall business objectives.
- Partner with cross-functional leadership (Product Development Manufacturing Supply Chain Regulatory Marketing etc.) to embed quality in every stage of the product lifecycle.
- Quality Systems & Compliance:
- Oversee the design implementation and continuous improvement of quality management systems (QMS) in line with ISO standards FDA regulations and global compliance requirements.
- Ensure audit readiness and manage third-party and regulatory inspections.
- Product Quality Oversight:
- Lead product testing protocols specifications and acceptance criteria for raw materials in-process components and finished goods.
- Monitor product performance data and consumer feedback to identify trends and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Risk Management:
- Proactively assess and mitigate quality and safety risks across the supply chain.
- Lead quality crisis management efforts including product recalls and major non-conformances.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Build lead and mentor a high-performing quality team across multiple sites.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement accountability and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Quality Life Sciences or related field; Masters degree preferred.
- 15 years of progressive quality management experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in the consumer goods industry.
- Deep knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. ISO 9001 GMP FDA CPSC).
- Strong leadership communication and change management skills.
- Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and manage cross-functional initiatives.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in global manufacturing and multi-region compliance environments.
- Certifications such as Six Sigma ASQ CQE/CQM or ISO Lead Auditor.
- Background in sustainability and ethical sourcing practices related to product quality.
