Huron Valley Schools is seeking an enthusiastic energetic and innovative Elementary Music/Tech teacher to fulfill a vacancy at Highland Elementary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Music Education (JQ) endorsement.
Demonstrates ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with students faculty administrators peers parents and the Huron Valley community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for creating a safe engaging classroom environment while teaching the Huron Valley Schools Elementary Music Curriculum to students in Junior Kindergarten through fifth grade and possibly students in special education categorical classrooms as well. The teacher will assess and report all students learning achievements.
Teach the recently renovated dedicated music classroom with an up-to-date Smartboard display and audio enhancement. There are a variety of instruments to teach with including Orff instruments tubanos and hand drums ukuleles recorders as well as props like scarves and beanbags.
Assist with general building duties and responsibilities such as the morning car drop-off line bus duty parent-teacher conferences curriculum night field day etc. and they may be responsible for presenting occasional daytime or evening performances with their students.
Collaborative member of the building staff and the HVS Elementary Music and K-12 Music staff cohorts.
Provide instructional activities and assess student achievement as outlined in the Michigan Educational Technology Standards and Huron Valley Schools Elementary Technology curriculum
Instruct students in age appropriate use of technology to safely access information through outside sources (i.e. online services & Internet).
Provide assistance in curriculum and program development
Actively participate and collaborate in professional development opportunities
LANGUAGE MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS:Ability to speak and write to apply mathematical concepts to practical to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
