Job Description
PositionPurpose
Primarily responsible for communicating with the Project Manager and/or Field Operations Lead and client field representative; Understanding the needs of the project and collecting field survey data required for the project; Supervises field survey personnel.
EssentialFunctions
- Gather project requirements from project manager and field operationslead.
- Communicate project requirements to field teamassociates.
- Complete daily job safety analysisforms.
- Conduct daily tailgate safetymeetings.
- Ensure field crew has necessary equipment and supplies to fulfill projectrequirements.
- Inspect assigned equipment to ensure proper working conditions prior to use. Schedule routine maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment. Identify and report any equipment failure on work order maintenance form.
- Coordinate field work schedule based on projectrequirements.
- Direct assigned field associates on dailyassignments.
- Compile notes sketches and records of survey dataobtained.
- Communicate findings of field survey with projectteam.
- Track assigned field team associates work hours and completetimesheets.
- Train assigned field associates on surveyprocedures.
- Report incidents to the appropriatepersonnel.
- Complete incident report asrequired.
- Monitor work conditions and responsibly use stop workauthority.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients in thefield.
- Perform work in a safe and efficientmanner.
SupervisoryResponsibilities
Supervises Instrument Operators and SurveyAides.
PhysicalRequirements
While performing the duties of this job the associate is frequently required to stand; walk long distances while carrying equipment sometimes through rugged terrain mud or swamp; drive and/or ride in a boat; sit; balance stoop kneel and lift up to 50 pounds; use hands to operate handle maneuver and/or manipulate objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; use manual dexterity to operate equipment; talk and hear; Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
MinimumRequirements
- A high school diploma OR its equivalent plus three to five years related workexperience.
- Ability to operate electronic distance measuring equipment and other surveying instruments boats airboats GPS all-terrain vehicles and other equipment necessary to obtain survey data.
- Attention to detail accuracy and excellent interpersonal communicationskills.
WorkEnvironment
While performing the duties of this job the associate is generally outdoors and is exposed to the weather. Associate does ride in a boat and is frequently exposed to the noise dust smells and other environmental factors present in such situations.
Hours ofWork
This is a full-time non-exempt position requiring 40 hours per week. Nights and weekend commitments to the organization its associates and clients are required.
