Position:HR Manager
Reports To:President and COO
Location:Lansing MI
Compensation:Exempt/Salary
Employment Requirements:
Gillespie Group requires background checks credit checks and drug screening as a condition of employment. A valid drivers license reliable transportation and current automobile insurance are required. This position requires individuals to furnish their vehicle to fulfill all job functions.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead recruitment and talent acquisition strategies to attract top talent
Actively network within the local community industry groups and professional associations
Represent the company at job fairs community events and networking functions
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
Manage employee relations conflict resolution and disciplinary actions
Oversee performance management and employee development programs
Coordinate training and development initiatives
Identify learning needs and manage internal/external training resources
Ensure legal compliance with employment laws and regulations
Collaborate with department heads on workforce planning and organizational development
Approve payroll and ensure compliance
Complete annual budget tasks
Supervise and mentor the HR Generalist
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business or related field (Masters preferred)
5 years of progressive HR experience including 2 years in a managerial role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices
Ability to exercise judgment discretion and maintain confidentiality
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent leadership interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Experience in property management real estate or multi-site organizations is a plus
Minimum Physical Expectations:
Frequent keyboarding sitting phone work and/or filing
Extensive time working on a computer
Lifting under 25 lbs.
Occasional travel by car
Occasional bending stooping reaching climbing kneeling and/or twisting
Close vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Must hear and speak clearly for extended periods (in English)
Minimum Environmental Expectations:
Indoor work environment
In-person role based in the office
Must handle challenging conversations and deescalate situations effectively
