Title: Check Point SME

Duration: 3-6 Months

Location: Remote (20% travel required to Harrisburg PA)

Rate: $70/hr - $80/hr

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Checkpoint & Splunk Specialist to join our IT security team. This role is critical in ensuring the stability security and performance of our network and monitoring infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with Checkpoint firewall solutions and Splunk security analytics tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design install configure and maintain Checkpoint firewall environments across multiple data centers and cloud platforms.
• Manage firewall policies rule base configurations upgrades and patches.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for Checkpoint-related network and security issues.
• Monitor and maintain firewall performance availability and reliability.
• Implement and manage Splunk for centralized logging monitoring and security analytics.
• Create maintain and optimize dashboards alerts reports and visualizations in Splunk.
• Conduct log analysis threat detection and incident response using Splunk.
• Collaborate with network system and application teams to ensure end-to-end security visibility and compliance.
• Stay up to date with emerging threats vulnerabilities and technology trends in network security.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 5 years of hands-on experience with Checkpoint firewall technologies.
• Strong understanding of network protocols firewall rules NAT VPNs and security best practices.
• 3 years of experience working with Splunk in a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting complex network and security incidents.
• Strong scripting skills (Shell Python) are a plus.
• Industry certifications such as CCSA CCSE or Splunk Certified Power User/Admin are preferred.
• Excellent communication documentation and collaboration skills.
