You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are seeking a talented individual to join our Small Market Employer (SME) team at Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) Canada. This role will be based in Toronto. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
This position is a strategic leadership role within the MMB team responsible for leading and overseeing the SME team within the Canadian health business including strategy operation and staffing. Critical to success in this role is a laser-like focus on achieving revenue growth operational excellence and colleague engagement targets. Reporting directly to the MMB Canada Leader the SME Leader also has a strong connection with the MMB global SME leader.
We will count on you to:
Provide direction focus and accountability to staff driving engagement through frequent communication and dialogue.
Lead the business transformation (growth technology operations) such that MMB Canada is recognized as a market leader in the SME segment.
Oversee the SME offering/carriers panel and contribute to initiatives within the business to enhance market presence.
Hire manage and develop a team of professionals providing effective performance feedback and career development opportunities.
Define and implement the long-term business strategy at the market level aligned with global and regional strategies to contribute to the financial success of the business and the market as a whole.
Support and drive sales efforts both internally and externally to generate revenue through acquiring new clients cross-selling to current clients within MMC and extending SME offerings.
Lead key client engagements directing project teams and developing strategic solutions to address client needs and issues.
Manage overall service delivery resolving complex issues related to client deliverables.
As part of this role the SME leader leads by example and contributes to sales and managing some clients.
What you need to have:
Proven leadership experience in a strategic role within the insurance benefits or related financial services industry with a track record of driving growth and operational excellence.
Strong business acumen with the ability to develop and implement long-term market strategies aligned with global and regional objectives.
Excellent communication team management and client relationship skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex client issues.
What makes you stand out:
Experience leading or working within the SME segment or similar markets with a deep understanding of client needs and market dynamics.
Demonstrated success in sales business development and client engagement especially in a consulting or advisory capacity.
Knowledge of the Canadian health benefits landscape and familiarity with market transformation initiatives.
