We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled GIS Technician 2 to support spatial data development analysis and integration activities in a utility or pipeline environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Esri platforms linear referencing and GIS data maintenance workflows. This position is critical in ensuring data accuracy supporting GIS project deliverables and developing process improvements across GIS operations.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct GIS data analysis mining and transformation to meet internal and external stakeholder needs
Create manage and update spatial data using Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS 10.2x platforms
Perform data quality control (QA/QC) on versioned geodatabases prior to production release
Support database design and application testing; document and troubleshoot defects
Interface with business users to gather requirements and implement requested changes
Develop automated tools using Model Builder or Python scripting
Utilize linear referencing techniques to maintain and analyze utility pipeline and asset data
Convert and process spatial and tabular data formats into GIS-compatible formats
Analyze and recommend improvements to existing GIS workflows and business processes
Prepare custom maps reports and queries for project teams and operational stakeholders
Stay up-to-date with evolving GIS technologies and contribute to team innovation
Bachelors degree in Geography (GIS) Engineering Computer Science or related field and 2 4 years of GIS experience
OR
GIS certificate with 2 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree
Experience in a utility or pipeline GIS environment (minimum 1 year preferred)
Strong geoprocessing and spatial analysis expertise
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to review requirements and translate into GIS solutions
Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Able to manage multiple tasks prioritize workload and adapt to changing project needs
Quick to learn and implement new GIS technologies and tools
