PRIMARY PURPOSE:
As a SIS Specialist specializing in Skyward Qmlativ youll be essential in maintaining and optimizing our Skyward Student Information system - SIS/ERP platform. Your role involves supporting administrative and instructional staff ensuring accurate and timely student and financial data management and troubleshooting issues with hardware software network connectivity and platform-related issues. A Skyward SIS Specialist provides technical support for the Skyward student information system and related technology within our school district ensuring smooth operation of the system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certifications
- Bachelors in IT Computer Science or related field preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- 2 years in K12 IT support with at least 1 year working directly with Skyward Qmlativ
- Familiarity with Qmlativs modern interface mobile apps (Family Teacher Employee Access) and customization features
- Hands-on experience managing cumulative records gradebook scheduling and reporting within Qmlativ.
- Skilled in Qmlativ Report Manager and scheduling integrations (FTP/SFTP exports)
- Strong communicator with a service-oriented mindset and ability to train diverse users.
- Adept at multi-tasking and collaborating in both independent and team settings.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in SIS reporting for state compliance (e.g. PEIMS).
- Experience supporting SIS/Qmlativ migrations or implementations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Technical Support:
- Providing first-level support to users experiencing issues with Skyward software.
- Provide first-level support for Qmlativ SIS and ERP assisting staff and faculty.
- Provide second-level support for Qmlativ SIS assisting parents with campus receptionists acting as the first-level.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving student records attendance gradebook payroll and financial modules.
- Configure and maintain Qmlativ user accounts roles and permissions for staff and families.
- Assist registrars counselors and support teams with cumulative (academic history) transcripts attendance and reporting.
- Collaborate with district data teams on Qmlativ data cleanup and ongoing integrations.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical problems related to the Skyward system including database access user accounts and data entry.
- Offering guidance and support to users on how to effectively use the Skyward platform
System Maintenance:
- Performing basic network troubleshooting as it relates to Skyward application support.
- Support data exports (e.g. scheduled Qmlativ Report Manager routines) and integrationslike OneRoster.
- Administer system updates backups and security protocols; advocate for cloud-hosting best practices.
User Assistance and Training:
- Providing training and guidance to users on new features or updates to the Skyward system.
- Guide and assist end-users via documentation video resources and in-person trainingleveraging Skyward Help Center and Academy materials.
- Documenting troubleshooting steps and creating user guides for common issues.
Project Participation:
- Participating in the implementation of new software or hardware related to Skyward.
- Testing and evaluating new technologies and providing feedback to management.
Communication and Documentation:
- Communicating effectively with users colleagues and management regarding technical issues and project status.
- Maintaining accurate records of support requests and troubleshooting steps.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
- Travel between district campuses and administrative offices is required.
