Job Description Summary
First-Generation and Promising Futures Coordinators will serve as key student leaders for the Promising Futures Leaders team during the four-day Summer Bridge Program this includes training and the program. Coordinators will play a vital role in supporting incoming first-year and transfer students as they transition to Chapman University. This includes managing student staff assisting with program coordination and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. Additionally Coordinators will serve as liaisons throughout the year for various programs and events.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Director of the Office of First-Generation and Promising Futures Programs the Coordinator will provide assistance in developing and overseeing programs events and special initiatives for all First-Generation Team.
Required Qualifications
Serve in a leadership role for the Promising Futures Leaders team Assist in training the Promising Futures Leaders team Supervise and manage student staff during the Summer Bridge Program Act as a liaison between students families and campus partners Coordinate and assist with campus tours for students and families Provide peer mentorship guidance and support to new first-year and transfer students Organize and lead student-led workshops campus tours and group discussions Facilitate community-building activities and foster a sense of belonging Assist with day-to-day program logistics and operations Guide students and families to various locations on campus Support event set-up and breakdown Help with student and family check-in Perform other duties as assigned
