Sewer/Upholsterer

• Works with fabrics including cotton flannel foam vinyl and nylon materials.
• Performs a variety of simple to complex tasks as instructed by supervisor to produce high volume standard special and custom fabric/vinyl patterns.             
• Works from simple written instructions patterns or assembly schematics. 
• Operates industrial sewing machines (single double/triple needle overlock binder punch/rivet/tacker elastic cover stitch walking foot) and cutting tools (edge cutter).
• Checks completed work visually for accuracy.
• Read and interpret diagrams blueprints and specifications to determine upholstery instructions.
• Fit install and secure material on frames using hand tools pneumatic tools power tools glue and/or staples.
• Operate pneumatic upholstery press to compress foam on select components 
• Perform all related activities per work instructions.
• Complete production packet reporting
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); in addition to three (3) to (6) six months related industrial sewing experience.  Experience with hand and pneumatic tools in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos.

• Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
