Career Development Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Career Development Coordinator at Spalding University is responsible for designing implementing and managing comprehensive career services for students and alumni. This role aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills resources and guidance to achieve their career goals and successfully transition into the workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute career development programs and workshops that enhance students employability skills.
- Provide one-on-one career counseling to assist students and alumni in career planning resume building and interview preparation.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with employers to create internship and job opportunities for students.
- Organize career fairs networking events and on-campus recruitment activities to connect students with potential employers.
- Collaborate with academic departments to integrate career development into the curriculum and support experiential learning opportunities.
- Conduct assessments and surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of career services and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and labor market information to provide relevant guidance and resources to students.
- Manage and maintain the career services database and online platforms ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is accessible to students and alumni.
- Prepare and present reports on career services activities and outcomes to university leadership.
Required Education:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Education Business Administration or a related field.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in career services student advising or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in organizing and coordinating career development programs and events.
- Proven track record of building relationships with employers alumni and community partners.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty staff and students.
- Proficiency in using career services management software and tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports to assess program effectiveness.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing environments.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment.
