Who Youll Work With
This role is part of the Air MI Design Engineering team reporting to the Design Engineering Manager. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Project Managers Process Quality Automation & Controls and Industrial Engineers. Key partners and stakeholders include Tooling Operations Maintenance Materials Planning and Safety teams.

We are seeking a Design Engineer to support the commercialization and manufacturing of NIKE Air products. The ideal candidate is adaptable curious solutions-oriented inclusive and respectful. You should demonstrate strong 3D design skills be hands-on and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Must-Have Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Engineering Manufacturing or related field or equivalent education and experience.

5 years experience in mechanical design engineering product design or tooling design of plastic consumer products.

Proficiency in NX CAD software (Siemens NX / NX CAD).

Experience with PDM software (preferably Teamcenter) and strong knowledge of revision control.

Proven ability to design manufacturing tools molds and mechanical components.

Strong problem-solving skills with a detailed and methodical approach.

Ability to analyze complex problems develop innovative solutions and adapt to changing priorities.

Strong communication and collaboration skills across functions and levels.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when handling tooling parts or equipment.

Must be able to work onsite at the Air Manufacturing Innovation Facility in Beaverton OR.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications

Experience with SolidWorks.

Knowledge or experience in thermoforming.

Background in high-volume manufacturing environments.

Experience working under tight timelines at Fortune 500 companies.
What Youll Work On

Support and lead the development of new NIKE Air products and daily manufacturing operations.

Spend 65% of time on project work 25% on improving existing product portfolio and 10% on creative exploration.

Design and document tooling designs and machine components using concept sketches 3D CAD and engineering knowledge.

Collaborate with designers developers engineers and tooling centers to ensure manufacturability of products and tooling.

Partner with internal customers external vendors and global teams to deliver effective solutions.

Communicate project progress clearly to key stakeholders.

Stay current on critical skills and technologies through training conferences and ongoing development.
Special Project Focus

Design mechanical tools for high-volume manufacturing.

Support the transfer of SQUs for airsoles.

Transition manufacturing processes from legacy equipment to new equipment.
