The opportunity:

As an Automation & Software Test Engineer you will be part of Operation Center India (INOPC-PG) aiming to develop a global value chain where key business activities resources and expertise are shared across geographic boundaries to optimize value for Hitachi Energy customers across markets. As part of Transformers BU we provide high-quality engineering and Technology to Hitachi Energy world. This is an important step from Hitachi Energys Global Footprint strategy.

How youll make an impact:

• Design develop and maintain robust scalable and reusable automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks.

• Analyze product requirements and technical specifications to identify test cases suitable for automation and manual execution.

• Develop and implement automation test strategies and plans.

• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to facilitate continuous testing and faster feedback loops.

• Execute automated tests analyze results and report defects with clear and concise documentation.

• Perform manual testing including functional regression integration and user acceptance testing when automation is not feasible or appropriate.

• Collaborate closely with developers product managers and other QA team members to understand product features and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

• Monitor and troubleshoot automated test failures identifying the root cause of issues and working with development to resolve them.

• Participate in code reviews of test automation scripts to ensure quality and adherence to best practices. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the test automation framework and processes.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends tools and technologies in software testing and automation. Write good quality documentation for data processing for different projects to ensure reproducibility.

• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines.

Your Background:

• Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field.

• Proven experience of maximum 4 years as an Automation Tester or QA Automation Engineer.

• Solid understanding of software testing principles methodologies and best practices.

• Strong proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used for automation (e.g. Java Python JavaScript C#).

• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with popular test automation frameworks and tools (e.g. Selenium WebDriver Playwright Cypress Appium).

• Experience with API testing tools (e.g. Postman SoapUI). Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git).

• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (Scrum Kanban).

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
