Perhaps you already know how a single bottleneck in material availability can jeopardize an entire infrastructure project. And as a specialist you understand the critical impact of aligning technical precision with supply chain reliability to avoid such failures.We would therefore welcome you at AETHER to support Intrapreneurial Projects as a junior Projects Material Controller:
The scope here is enabling the seamless and compliant flow of critical materials for infrastructure projects ensuring technical integrity and operational readiness.
The Key responsibilities expected from our consultant might include:
Support projects through high-quality and detail-oriented execution:
- Provide technical advice during tendering and production phases for standard materials.
- Solve and monitor technical issues in the materials production process with the inspection body and Fluxys departments.
- Monitor stock usage and adjust parameters in the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system.
- Analyze procurement proposals to optimize material availability.
Support projects with rational and data-driven assessments:
- Manage codification of new materials and oversee the equipment purchasing process to replenish inventory.
- Ensure data management for new materials and proactively analyze replacement products with the relevant departments.
Support projects by facilitating communication and reporting:
- Act as an interface between suppliers internal customers and inspection bodies to ensure supplied equipment meets specifications.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers in collaboration with buyers.
The experience we are actively looking for:
- Masters degree in a technical field (specialization in Metallurgy or International Welding Engineering is a plus)
- First professional experience in an industrial environment is an advantage
- Strong technical interest in industrial materials (petrochemicals piping boiler making)
- Critical thinking logical approach and precision
- Team player with ability to connect across departments
- Proactive mindset with problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Office; SAP S4Hana knowledge is a plus
- Excellent command of French Dutch and English
- Valid work and residence permits for Belgium (mandatory for non-EU candidates)
- Immediate availability and presence in Belgium are preferred
