Division Lead Kindergarten

Expected Hourly Range: $25.00 - $30.00/hour

Position Summary

  • The Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of BEST department support duties as well as mentoring of the Enrichment & Supervision Leaders.
  • The Enrichment Coordinator is the first point of contact for students parents and staff in their assigned area as they are available each time of the day the children are outside of the classroom.
  • Provide a positive environment for students to learn and develop life long skills.
  • Plan and supervise student activities that contribute to individual student development.
  • Ensure the physical and emotional safety of the children at all times.
  • Plan and implement age appropriate activities to the children remaining in our care.
  • Assist as Teachers Aid for a minimum of one class period

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years college course work with at least 2 years experience working with school aged children either in a school or summer setting OR
  • Work experience with school aged children either in a school or summer setting equivalent to 4 years.
  • Must hold current certification in both First Aid and CPR or have the ability to obtain within the first month of employment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain communication with all activity staff and directors as daily situations arise.
  • Assist and maintain positive rapport with parents faculty and staff.
  • Organize and facilitate special events.
  • Oversee and organize the monthly bulletin boards.
  • Oversee and organize the Lost and Found area in specific area.
  • Follow through with the Pay-It-Forward Lost & Found system with the students in your care on a weekly basis.
  • Must be available for childcare during non-school days throughout the school year (November Parent/Teacher Conferences and Presidents Week).
  • Follow school procedures as listed in the Enrichment Programs Staff Guidebook as well as all Harker handbooks including The Harker School Personnel Policies Handbook.
  • Set a good example for students and others including punctuality dress language and behavior.
  • Plan and instruct age and skill appropriate activities in specified age group (KDG 1-3 or 4-5) promoting student self-esteem and encourage individual success.
  • Complete monthly lesson plans and calendars with your teammembers.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled meeting with Directors.
  • Maintain the equipment used in their activities and assure its safe storage.
  • Be aware of when equipment needs to be replaced or repaired and take the necessary steps to ensure necessary updates.
  • Assist in the planning and participation in special events such as Halloween Parade and Kiddie Carnival.
  • Attend and actively participate in daily staff meetings beginning at 3:00pm each day.
  • Assist in the setup of campus before the first day of school and in the break down of campus on last day of school.
  • Plan for the safe operation of the school and the safety of all participants including behavior accident reports.
  • Understand and utilize the student behavior management program through Behavior Reporting and Behavioral Referrals.
  • Provide staff input during review times.
  • Available to assist directors as well as provide training during staff training.
  • Consistently report issues to Directors as needed.

Other Duties and Responsibilities - Supervisory responsibilities to the children. No supervisory responsibility to other employees.

Knowledge Skill & Ability Requirements

  • Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age and skill levels) and provide necessary direction and instruction to students.
  • Ability to communicate in effective English with staff parents and children.
  • Abilities to observe student behavior assess its appropriateness enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
  • Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the position.
  • Visual ability to see and read posted flyers schedules and announcements.
  • Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid and emergency responses.
  • Cognitive and communication abilities to plan and conduct the activity to achieve student development objectives.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and understand students parents and other staff members.
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations.
  • Physical ability to stand for 2.5 to 3 hours at a time.
  • Physical ability to withstand climate extremes.

Working Conditions

  • No hazardous or unpleasant working conditions.
  • Climate elements must be withstood (IE wearing sunscreen on warm days) as well as prolonged standing.
  • Ability to communicate in effective English with staff students and parents in person or by phone or e-mail.
  • Hear individual groups telephone and intercom communications emergency signals etc.
