Front of House (FOH) Supervisor Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Build rapport between kitchen and front-of-house staff to minimize conflict.
  • Ensure front-of-house attendants greet guests and answer phone calls promptly and cordially.
  • Maintain a calm team-oriented environment for all staff.
  • Maintain employee recognition and incentive programs to support high morale.
  • Monitor staff appearance and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the GM and HR to address and resolve any staff-related conflicts.


General Operations

  • Conduct daily pre-shift/post-shift to increase communication.
  • Respond to any guest complaints and takes necessary action.
  • Monitor the appearance of the restaurant and take corrective action.
  • Welcome and greet guests. Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you are there to personally take care of them.
  • Effectively supervise the restaurant operation and delegate tasks to ensure excellent service and restaurant goals are consistently achieved.
  • Answer questions about our food beverages and other restaurant functions and services.
  • Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
  • Manage the restaurant to meet or exceed standards in food quality safety and cleanliness.
  • Assist General Manager to monitor labor costs and remain within budgets.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors to place orders.
  • Train monitor and maintain the point of sale system.
  • Assist in any areas of the restaurant when staffing constraints require.

Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to deal with guests in a professional manner while maintaining a composed demeanor in high stress situations.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Frequent long periods of standing and walking are expected during the workday.
  • Ability to reach for objects and stoop or bend as needed to perform job duties.
  • This position may involve visual and auditory tasks including the ability to see and hear adequately to perform job functions.
Salary Description
$18.00/ hour
