About the role
Mercy Food Services Rockhampton is seeking an enthusiasticFood Service Assistant to join our team in a casual hours are weekdays during standard business hoursno weekend or night shifts required with the possibility to pick up an extra day when other staff are on leave.
Salary range: $31.24 - $33.68 per hour 23% casual loading 12% superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15900access to many staff benefits!

What youll be doing
As a Food Service Assistant you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of service are delivered to our customers and partners. This is a fast-paced diverse role that requires strong teamwork skills and the ability to priorities tasks effectively.
Youwill beinvolved in a variety of activities throughout the day including but not limited to:
- Assisting with general cleaning duties including washing trays utensils and equipment
- Ensuring food goods are prepared and packaged according to recipe specifications
- Managing inventory to ensure all food products are within their use-by dates
- Correctly labelling and vacuum-sealing packaged products
- Maintaining retention samples of food goods for quality assurance
- Ensuring dispatch trolleys are correctly labelled filled and not overloaded
- Assisting with product placement and organisation on food storage shelves
- Supporting the Head Chef with the coordination of production schedules
- Ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and sanitised after each use
About you
To be successful in thisrole you will have:
- Understanding of food safety principles and basic hygiene
- An ability to achieve goals and objectives with minimal supervision
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills
- Certificate in Occupational Hygiene is desirable
- Previous experience in a comparable position highly desirable
