Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to support our daily food service operations. The ideal candidate will assist with meal prep maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment and help with event and system-related tasks. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth lunch service for High School Middle School and Lower School students while also supporting special events and maintaining compliance with food safety standards
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with lunch prep for High School Middle School and Lower School.

Document the number of food items made and leftovers daily.

Ensure the drink closet is clean and well-organized.
-
Check and record freezer and refrigerator temperatures; log data on designated sheets.
-
Support the printing of lunch menus.

Assist with updating the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
-
Help serve lunch as needed.
-
Ensure the kitchen is cleaned and reset after service:
-
Wash and dry all utensils and kitchen items.
-
Wipe down and sanitize all tables.
-
Clean out all sinks.
-
Sweep and mop all floors.
-
Keep refrigerators and freezers clean and organized.
-

Track product inventory and identify ordering needs.
-
Order supplies as needed based on upcoming events.
-
Organize and submit all invoices to the accounting department.
-
Support events on Jewish holidays and Shabbat as needed.
-
Assist with the Weiner Tournament and Shabbatons.
-
Fill in for the Kitchen Manager when they are unavailable.
-
Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Kitchen Manager.
.Qualifications:

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting is preferred.

Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
-
Availability to work flexible hours including some weekends and holidays.
