Job Description

Tim Hortons Foundation Camps help youth from underserved communities achieve their full potential through multi-year overnight camp experiences. Job Summary

The role of Director of Human Resources is key to the success of the Foundation requiring an individual who combines strong senior level HR generalist skills with a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people. The scope of the HR function includes health and safety; performance management; talent management; training and development; compensation; benefits; recruitment and selection; organizational effectiveness and development; change management; employee relations; talent acquisition compensation planning and administration and payroll. As part of the senior leadership Team the HR Director will play a key role with staff in shaping communicating and implementing the Foundations organizational culture vision values and strategy to best serve youth from lower income households.

Work Location

St. George Ontario. This role will work out of our Home Office located at Tim Horton Onondaga Farms in St. George Ontario. This role will be required to work a minimum of three days per week in-office and the Organization reserves the right to adjust the required work location at any time. Some travel will be required to visit and address human resources related matters at our various work locations across Canada and the USA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive HR strategyto attract retain and motivate top talent while aligning with organizational goals.
  • Enhance HR practices and organizational structureto support strategic and operational plans.
  • Oversee recruitment and workforce planning including outreach strategies employer branding inclusive hiring and meeting recruitment targets.
  • Lead performance management and talent development ensuring alignment with strategic objectives succession planning and staff development.
  • Manage compensation and benefits including market reviews job evaluation systems and total rewards to ensure competitiveness and equity.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislationand manage employee relations health and safety and return-to-work programs.
  • Oversee HR operations and systems including payroll HRIS and technology platforms.
  • Drive employee engagementthrough surveys feedback mechanisms and initiatives like onboarding offboarding and annual staff retreats.
  • Develop and manage the HR budgetand contribute to policy development based on business needs.
  • Monitor HR trends and metrics including retention and provide insights to inform continuous improvement and innovation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An undergraduate degree with a concentration in Human Resources (or equivalent).
  • CHRP/CHRL (or equivalent) certification is strongly preferred.
  • Senior progressive HR experience in fast-paced innovative environments; non-profit experience is an asset.
  • Deep expertise in HR planning employee relations workforce planning health and safety organizational design recruitment training talent management total rewards and HRIS.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. employment legislation HR regulations and best practices.
  • Bilingual in French and English is preferred.
  • Skilled in making complex decisions in ambiguous situations using sound judgment and analysis.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and shifting strategies.
  • A natural and adaptable communicator comfortable engaging with all levels including senior leaders Board members and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates a passion for high performance and motivates teams to achieve excellence.
  • Proactive and results-oriented balancing strategic and tactical responsibilities while anticipating emerging needs.
  • Are legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Able to provide an acceptable criminal background check or vulnerable sector check.
