ASSISTANT PRINCIPALPalmer River Elementary SchoolThe Assistant Principal serves as the assistant to the Principal in achieving the goals and objectives of the elementary school with a focus on supporting students staff and families in a nurturing and developmentally appropriate learning :Masters Degree in Education or related fieldAppropriate MA DESE Licensure as an Principal/Assistant Principal Grades PK6 or PK8At least five (5) years of successful teaching/educational experience preferably at the elementary levelSupervisory leadership and/or administrative experienceSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Committee may find appropriate and acceptableSpecific Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Principal in the development and implementation of the districts mission vision and goals at the school levelSupport a safe respectful and supportive school climate by enforcing school policies managing student discipline and fostering positive relationshipsMaintain accurate student records using Aspen or similar student information systems including student attendance discipline and report cardsLead the MTSS process and supports staff in designing and implementing appropriate evidence-based interventionsSupervise and support staff performance through regular observations feedback and professional developmentCoordinate state and district testing including but not limited to MCAS and district benchmark assessmentsAssist in school operations such as scheduling student services and family communicationCollaborate in the development and monitoring of the elementary school budgetServe as a visible and supportive presence throughout the school especially in common areas classrooms and during arrival/dismissal Other duties as assigned by the PrincipalSupervision:Reports directly to the Principal and is evaluated annually by the Principal
