Role Snapshot (Our Elevator Pitch!)

As the Coordinator Communications and Organizational Development youll lead the charge in fostering a culture of collaboration and engagement through innovative communication strategies and impactful employee programs. Youll collaborate across departments to develop initiatives that align with organizational priorities while ensuring every employee feels connected informed and appreciated. This role also involves supporting external communication efforts as part of the Legislative and Legal Services Department.

What Youll Do

In this role you will be responsible for:

1. Drive Communication Excellence
  • Develop and implement internal and external communication plans for consistent and transparent messaging
  • Craft engaging content for platforms like County Connect employee intranets and digital signage
  • Collaborate with the Communications Officer on social media and digital design initiatives
2. Champion Employee Engagement
  • Chair the Employee Engagement Committee leading initiatives that align with organizational values
  • Organize programs such as appreciation events recognition ceremonies and corporate volunteering activities
  • Coordinate employee engagement surveys and analyze results to drive strategic improvements
3. Propel Strategic Initiatives
  • Partner with HR and senior leadership to implement programs enhancing workplace culture and morale
  • Assist departments in tracking and executing Strategic Plan priorities
4. Create Memorable Events
  • Plan and execute events like employee appreciation celebrations and milestone recognitions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver successful events that reflect organizational values
5. Promote Accessibility and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with accessibility standards for documents and websites
  • Manage internal branding ensuring alignment with organizational vision and mission

What You Bring

Education and Commitment to Growth:
  • A diploma or degree in Business Communications Marketing or a related field
Experience and Expertise:
  • At least 3 years in internal communications employee engagement or a related role
  • Event planning and program coordination experience is an asset
Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Adobe Creative Suite Canva and content management systems
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A creative thinker with a knack for designing innovative engagement strategies
  • Familiarity with accessible document remediation is an asset
  • Experience using communication tools like intranet software and digital signage
Other Requirements:
  • A valid Class G Ontario drivers license and access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes
  • Ability to provide a Ministry of Transportation Driver Abstract and Police Information Check

6. Offer and Onboarding
If selected youll receive a formal offer outlining the terms of employment. Upon acceptance our onboarding team will work with you to ensure a smooth transition including introductions to your team access to tools and systems and a comprehensive overview of your first 90 days.
