Job Description:
Reception duties at dry Shelter- meet visitors & direct to proper department.
Maintain logbooks and complete occurrence incident reports UpToDate.
Protection services officer will assign and work at Mat program & Shelter to ensure all criteria for each Shelter is followed.
Understand and is aware of emergency/disaster procedures.
Waste removal handled in safe and secure mannertakeout garbages from mat program and shelters.

Portray a positive attitude and displays excellent team player attributes
Work Environment:
Most times other staff will be present
Will deal with Shelter individuals who are under the influence of alcohol and drugs
Will encounter angry individuals/verbally abusive
Will encounter those who have alternative lifestyles
Exposure to infectious diseases
Exposure to bodily fluids
Exposure to sharp objects and other dangerous items

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Qualifications and Certifications:
Grade 12 diploma
A current Security Services License as per Alberta Legislation
First Aid/CPR Certification
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements
Skills and Capabilities:
Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training & understanding of Occupational Health & Safety Policies & Emergency Preparedness would be an asset
Good verbal & written communication skills
Capable of lifting 50 lbs & in good physical health
Valid Drivers License- Class 5
Clean abstract & Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector upon hire
This is a six-month fixed term contract.
Schedule is 40 hours per week.
Pay rate: $24 per hour.
This position is eligible for Cost of Living Allowance (COLA).
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $21.99 to $27.49 with a maximum of $32.99.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions internal equity and candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role.
