As we continue with our growth strategy we are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Commercial Fire Protection Road Supervisor to lead and oversee sprinkler system field operations across commercial projects throughout Alberta. Reporting to the Commercial Operations Manager the successful candidate will supervise a team of Journeyman Sprinkler Fitters and apprentices to ensure all work is completed safely on time and in full compliance with all regulatory and code requirements. This is a full-time unionized position and the candidate must be a certified Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter and a current or willing to be a union member. Flexibility for travel and shift work is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily field operations for the installation inspection testing and maintenance (ITM) of fire protection systems
  • Supervise and support a team of Journeyman Sprinkler Fitters Apprentices and CFAA-certified technicians
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA codes Alberta Building Code and applicable standards and specifications
  • Coordinate job schedules crew assignments and materials to meet project deadlines
  • Conduct safety inspections enforce HSE procedures and lead safety meetings
  • Prepare and maintain field reports material requests and daily progress documentation
  • Collaborate with internal departments and clients to address site issues and support smooth project delivery
  • Attend job site meetings and liaise with general contractors consultants and inspectors
  • Ensure quality control and oversee system commissioning
  • Onboard and train field staff promoting a culture of excellence and safety
  • Travel throughout Alberta and work flexible shifts as required

Qualifications & Skills:

Required:

  • Certified Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter (mandatory)
  • Current or willing union membership
  • 5 years of supervisory experience in commercial fire protection or construction
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA Alberta Building Code and fire/life safety regulations
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage field teams effectively
  • Strong organizational planning and communication skills
  • Excellent safety awareness and knowledge of field-level safety practices
  • Competence in reporting job tracking and documentation
  • Willingness and ability to travel across Alberta and work on rotating shifts
  • Updated Tickets such as WHMIS 2015 CSTS 2020 EWP etc.

Assets (Preferred but Not Required):

  • Experience supervising large-scale commercial fire protection projects
  • Background in ITM processes and commissioning fire protection systems
  • Familiarity with integrated fire/life safety systems
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting abilities related to sprinkler system installs.
