Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Veterinary Technician to support our veterinary team with high-level nursing care and technical proficiency. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail emotional intelligence and compassion are key to success.
Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians in all aspects of care
Provide advanced nursing care to patients with compassion
Perform venipuncture (jugular cephalic saphenous)
Place IV catheters
Conduct automated and manual laboratory analysis
Capture digital radiographs
Triage patients and support workflow for veterinary teams
Induce anesthesia perform endotracheal intubation and monitor anesthesia
Deliver compassionate customer service to clients
Perform accurate medical calculations
Primary Skills:
Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
Anesthesia monitoring and induction
Digital radiology
Laboratory diagnostics
Triage and emergency patient care
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
RVT certification (preferred)
Proficiency with EMRs and diagnostic equipment
Excellent communication skills
Emotional intelligence and critical thinking
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
Skilled in patient restraint
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience
RVT preferred but not required
