Full timeTo advance the purpose of InterVarsity Press this position will serve staff and management by ensuring the proper and accurate accounting of financial records according to generally accepted accounting principles and InterVarsity policies and procedures. This position will also act as the lead for general accounting and sales & payroll tax compliance.Supervised by: Divisional VP Finance
Supervises: N/A but if qualified this position may supervise Accounts Payable
Status: Exempt (salaried)
Location: Lisle IL (hybrid work agreement by arrangement)
Time: Full-time
Pay: $72500-$77500 annually

QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
LEVELS IN JOB FAMILY (POSTING WILL STATE THE RELEVANT LEVEL AT THE BEGINNING OF THE POSTING)
Accounting Specialist Level 5
The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for all of the above and will have two years of relevant accounting experience. They will have experience working within complex financial systems and experience with Workday is preferred. Their work may be performed with or under oversight of other accountants. They may also carry out more clerical tasks such as preparation of bank deposits.
Accountant I Level 6
The Accountant I will have at least three years of relevant accounting experience and typically an undergraduate degree. They may have relevant accounting certifications. They will be responsible for all of the above responsibilities as well as additional responsibilities. These will include analyzing accounts records reports accounts receivable and payable journal vouchers general and subsidiary ledgers and other accounting documents for accuracy and completeness; investigating and resolving accounting problems for areas of responsibility; preparing monthly financial information reconciling a balance sheet and analyzing variances. They will assist with financial forecasting and budget preparation as well as serve as a liaison with external auditors to facilitate audits. They will have experience working within complex financial systems and experience with Workday is preferred.
Accountant II Level 7
The Accountant II will have all of the responsibilities of the Accountant I with more independent management of financial processes and analysis as well as involvement with training and/or overseeing the work of others. They will have at least five years of relevant accounting experience and typically an undergraduate degree. They will typically have relevant accounting certifications.
Senior Accountant Level 8
The Senior Accountant will have all of the responsibilities of the Accountant II with more independent management of financial processes and analysis as well as involvement with training and/or overseeing the work of others and developing the strategy and processes of the accounting team. They will have at least ten years of relevant accounting experience and an undergraduate degree. They will typically have relevant accounting certifications.
